Western Canada Theatre
15 July, 2011: This fall Jesse will be performing in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor® Dreamcoat with Western Canada Theatre in Kamloops, BC. He will be playing Asher and The Butler.

19 February, 2011: Jesse just moved to Vancouver! He will be represented by Kim Barsanti at Muse Artist Management in Vancouver, while maintaining his relationship with Ronda Cooper of The Characters in Toronto. See Contact page for more info.
Reading: Snow: The Musical
19 December, 2009: In the run-up to the Winter Olympics, Jesse played the lead in a reading of a new musical, Snow, at Whistler Village in BC. You can read a synopsis and listen to some of their demo tracks here.
Performance: In Flanders Fields
11 November, 2009: Jesse just wrapped up a nine-week tour of Ontario with Smile Theatre, playing First World War poet John McCrae in a new Canadian musical about his life. Detailed info here.
Shakespeare in the Square
19 March, 2009: Jesse will head to Brampton to this summer to play Theseus in Shakespeare in the Square's production of A Midsummer Night's Dream as part of Brampton's Flower City Festival, directed by Peter Van Wart.
Shaw Festival
November 30, 2007: Jesse will be returning for his sophomore season at the Shaw, appearing as Cyril in The Stepmother, directed by Jackie Maxwell, and George Bannerman in After the Dance, directed by Christopher Newton. You can read Jesse's Shaw Festival bio here.
Upside-Down Girl
October 26, 2007: The short film in which Jesse co-starred has won Air Canada's 2007 EnRoute Student Film Festival. Congratulations to James Vandewater, Kevin Krikst, and everyone involved! You can watch the trailer.

October 15, 2007: You can see Jesse Martyn in the upcoming tour of the 2007 Shaw Festival production of Saint Joan at the Chicago Shakespeare Theatre. The production runs January to 20th.

Upside-Down Girl
November 27, 2006: Jesse just started shooting a short film, Upside-Down Girl. He plays Simon, who discovers upon arriving for his first date with Emily that she is on the ceiling.  
Anne and Gilbert
March 15, 2006: Jesse will be returning to Prince Edward Island to perform the role of Roy Gardiner in the second production of the Canadian musical Anne and Gilbert. The show will run July 12 to September 3 at the Harbourfront Jubilee Theatre in Summerside. 
Scenes from an Execution
February 27, 2006: Jesse begins rehearsals for Howard Barker's Scenes from an Execution, directed by Kate Weiss at Studio Theatre in Edmonton. He'll be playing Urgentino, the suave Doge of Venice.  This is Jesse's last performance as part of his BFA in Acting at the University of Alberta.
As You Like It
February 9, 2006: As You Like It, directed by Dean Gilmour opens today at the Studio Theatre. The show is physical, comic, and highly inventive. Jesse is playing Oliver, Orlando's nasty elder brother.

December 2008: The December issue of EnRoute Magazine featured an article on Upside Down Girl, the short film in which Jesse co-starred. Donald Sutherland, one of the celebrity judges of the 2007 EnRoute Student Film Festival, had this to say: "Upside-Down Girl felt like it had true dramatic tension .... Jesse Martyn was terrific: intelligent, understated."
